Agencies run on trackers: deliverables, budgets, content calendars, hours. Connect Google Sheets to Geniusly to turn a tracker into this week's client report. When you ask, it can also create a new sheet or update an exact range for you.
What agencies do with Google Sheets + Geniusly
Weekly client report from the tracker
Turn rows of status into progress, blockers and next decisions.
"@Geniusly Using the Acme tracker in Sheets, prepare this week's client update for Oct 12–18: completed deliverables, what's late, and blockers with owners."
Spot problems before the client does
Check a tracker for overdue items, missing owners or budget drift before the status call.
"@Geniusly Check the Northwind tracker for overdue rows, rows with no owner, and anything where spend is above budget."
Create a new tracker from a brief
Start a new client's deliverables sheet from the kickoff notes. Geniusly creates and fills it only because you asked.
"@Geniusly Create a Google Sheet called "Acme Q4 deliverables" with columns Deliverable, Owner, Due, Status, and fill it from the kickoff notes above."
Update an exact range
Change a specific range when you ask, for example marking items done after the call.
"@Geniusly In the Acme tracker, set Status in D4:D6 to "Done"."
Watch a tracker
Ask Geniusly to check a sheet daily or weekly and tell you only when something actionable changes. Watches are read-only and end after 30 days.
"@Geniusly Watch the Acme tracker daily and tell me if any item passes its due date without being marked done."
Example prompts are illustrative. Use your own client names and sources.
How it works in Slack
- Add Geniusly to Slack. Sign up at geniusly.ai and add Geniusly to your workspace. Your workspace may need administrator approval.
- Connect Google Sheets from a private DM. Send Geniusly a direct message like "Connect my Google Sheets". You'll get a private authorization link, and you grant access in Google's own sign-in screen. Connection links never get posted in shared channels.
- Ask for the work. Mention @Geniusly in a thread or DM it with a specific request. Name the client, the date window and the source.
- Review the result in Slack. Check the details, ask for changes in the same thread, and decide what happens next.
Permissions and safety
- Reads by default. Geniusly reads the spreadsheets you point it to.
- Writes only when you ask. It creates a spreadsheet, fills a new sheet, or edits one exact cell range only when your request explicitly asks for it. That's one write per request. For edits, it reads the current values first.
- No silent retries. If a write's result is uncertain, Geniusly doesn't repeat it automatically. It tells you, so you can check.
- Watches are read-only. A monitor can't write, send or start other schedules.
- Your account only. Each person connects their own Google account.
